In 1985, the Scioto Foundation Board of Governors granted $11,000 to the Portsmouth Little Theatre to acquire adjacent land. With this financial support, PLT successfully purchased an adjoining parcel situated on the corner of Lawson and what is now Robinson, thus expanding its footprint.

The Scioto Foundation annually awards grants on a quarterly basis in classifications of the arts, education, community development, social services and health. Application deadlines are March 31, June 30, September 30 and December 31.
