Last summer the Scioto Foundation Board of Governors awarded $7,450 to the South Central Ohio Educational Center from the Benjamin A. Fried & Calvin & Martha Johnson Funds for academic enrichment programs provided for the Scioto County Schools through the school year. Included in the programs are the Youth MAX Leadership Training, the Scioto County Science Fair, the Ohio Mock Trial District Competition, the Scioto County Spelling Bee and pre-college summer enrichment scholarship programs.
Today SCO ESC Talented and Gifted Coordinator, Sharee Price hosted the Scioto County Science Fair at SSU. Students who were waiting to be judged had the opportunity to tour part of the campus. Stops included the plastics and robotics engineering lab, the Clark Memorial Library to have a hands-on experience in using the anatomage table as well as isolating DNA in Massie Hall.
