Over the course of two days, Portsmouth Elementary students participated in a walk-a-thon to raises funds for the Steven A. Hunter Hope Power Pack program. These power packs provide healthy, weekend meals to over 1,250 children in the southern Ohio area. Sadly, one in four children suffers from food insecurity in our area. Wanting to help alleviate some of their fellow classmate’s hunger issues, many PE students joined in this wonderful event.
Did you know, through the Steve A. Hunter Power Pack program $3 can cover one-weekend meal? For as little as 33¢ a day, a hungry child will receive weekend food for the entire 40-week school year. To donate to the power pack fund visit, https://www.stevenshopefund.org/donate
